VSG KIT278 Description
Climb Right built the KIT278 spurs around aluminum, and it shows in the weight, you’re not dragging extra steel up every tree. The frame is durable enough for professional daily use while staying light enough that leg fatigue isn’t compounded by gear weight.
This kit comes configured with 2 5/8 in. replaceable steel tree gaffs, which is the most common choice for tree work. Pole gaffs are available separately if you need to switch between applications. The gaffs are steel rather than aluminum, so they hold an edge and take the punishment of driving into bark repeatedly.
The Ultra Light pads are one of the more practical features here. The pads themselves are closed-foam, replaceable when they wear out, which matters when you’re using them daily. They bolt directly to the spurs at an angle that keeps them from shifting during a climb, and the 3 in. Velcro cinch straps let you get a secure fit without a lot of adjustment time.

3 in. Velcro Cinch Straps
Wide synthetic straps cinch around the leg securely. Quick to adjust, durable for extended field use.
Anti-Rotation Pad Mounting
Pads bolt to the frame at a specific angle that resists the rotational forces of climbing, keeps them positioned correctly without constant readjustment.
