VSG 15218T Description
The Climb Right Clencher Rope Grab is a cam-actuated device that functions as a mechanical alternative to a Prusik hitch for creating an adjustable lanyard. The Clencher slides easily up the rope when the cam is prevented from engaging, but jams securely when the cam is loaded, replicating the functional behavior of a Prusik with the consistency and speed of a mechanical grab.
Installation is done by threading one end of the rope through the grab, rather than clipping over an already-rigged rope. This thread-through design substantially reduces the risk of accidental disconnection compared to clip-over designs. The Clencher uses an internal spring encased in the cam for tension, an improvement over the external stiff wire used in earlier designs, which was more exposed to damage and debris interference in field conditions.
Compatible with 1/2-inch to 5/8-inch rope. Made in the USA. Note: If overloaded or subjected to an impact force, the rope may slip through the device. Not intended for belaying.

Thread-Through Installation
Rope is threaded through the grab rather than clipped over, substantially reducing the risk of accidental disconnection compared to clip-over rope grab designs.
Internal Spring Cam
Internal spring encased inside the cam body provides tension, an improvement over earlier external stiff-wire designs that were more exposed to damage and debris interference.
1/2" to 5/8" Rope Compatibility
Accommodates the 1/2-inch to 5/8-inch rope range commonly used in arborist climbing and rigging setups, covering most standard double-braid and kernmantle rope diameters.
Prusik Hitch Replacement
Functions as a drop-in replacement for a Prusik hitch in adjustable lanyard applications, offering faster adjustment and more consistent release behavior than a friction hitch in field conditions.
