VSG 59122 Description

The CAMP Turbofoot EVO is an upgraded version of the popular Turbofoot foot ascender, adding integrated rollers that significantly improve climbing efficiency. The rollers reduce friction between the rope and the ascender body during upward progression, lowering the energy required per stroke while simultaneously reducing wear on the rope and the device itself, a measurable improvement over roller-free designs on extended climbs.

A dual-mode cam system gives the operator control over how the ascender behaves during setup and use. Switching to free-cam mode allows immediate rope insertion and removal without threading, useful for fast rope changes mid-climb. Locking the cam removes the possibility of accidental rope release during active progression, providing confidence during sustained vertical work. The precision cast stainless steel cam handles the mechanical load while the aluminum alloy main body keeps the assembly light.

Boot fastening straps fit any type of boot with auto-locking buckles for fast, secure adjustment without tools. Mud and dirt exit through dedicated holes in the cam to prevent buildup that could compromise cam engagement. For 8–13mm ropes. Note: The Turbofoot is a progression device only and cannot be used as a life safety attachment. Made as a replacement for part number 40279.

VSG 59122 Features

  • Integrated Rollers

Rollers reduce friction between rope and ascender body during upward progression, improving climbing efficiency and reducing wear on both the rope and the device compared to roller-free designs.

  • Dual-Mode Cam System

Cam can be freed for immediate rope insertion and removal without threading, or locked to prevent accidental rope release during active vertical progression, toggled with a single switch.

  • Stainless Steel Cam

Precision cast stainless steel cam handles mechanical load with reliable engagement and long service life, backed by an aluminum alloy main body for low overall weight.

  • Auto-Locking Boot Straps

Fastening straps adjust to any boot type with auto-locking buckles for fast, secure setup without tools, no loose ends, no secondary adjustments required after strapping in.

  • Mud-Exit Cam Holes

Dedicated holes in the cam body allow mud and dirt to exit during use, preventing debris buildup that could compromise cam engagement during arborist climbing operations.
