STIHL built in the conveniences that make a saw easier to live with. A single Master Control Lever works the choke, throttle lock, and on/off, so starting is simple. Chain tension adjusts from the side with a bar wrench instead of a fight at the bar nose, and the air filter cover pops off without tools for quick cleaning. An anti-vibration system takes the buzz out of long cuts so your hands hold up. The engine is built to last, too: two piston rings keep compression as it wears, and 25 cooling fins shed heat under sustained load.
Safety comes from the STIHL Quickstop chain brake, which stops the chain if the saw kicks back hard enough or when you engage it by hand.
