The Shindaiwa brand is known for quality performance, long-lasting durability and high reliability. Richardson Saw and Lawnmower stocks a range of Shindaiwa products. Speaking specifically of their hedge trimmers, Shindaiwa offers a range of different styles and even engine configurations to choose from. Shindaiwa is the only company that offers a choice between 2-stroke or 2/4-stroke engines for hedge trimmers.
Shindaiwa Difference
Shindaiwa’s 2-stroke hedge trimmers are dependable – exactly what you would expect from a good-quality hedge trimmer. The hybrid 2/4 stroke engines combine the best qualities of 2- and 4-stroke engines to make them lighter-weight and less maintenance than 4-stroke engines, and more efficient with lower emissions than 2-stroke engines.
Shindaiwa hedge trimmers also offer the option of two different blade lengths for each trimmer model. Blades are chrome-plated and double-reciprocating for quick, precise cutting. This results in a clean, more professional look to your finished hedges.
2-Stroke Hedge Trimmers
In 2-stroke models, Shindaiwa offers two basic hedge trimmer designs, each with two blade lengths. The DH232 and DH235 both feature a 21.2 cc professional-grade 2-stroke engine, a 180 degree rotating rear handle, an anti-vibration system, and forward-facing exhaust tube. The DH232 has a 22.8-inch blade and weighs 11 pounds. The DH235 has a 28-inch blade and weighs 11.4 pounds. They are both double-sided hedge trimmers.
The other two 2-stroke hedge trimmers are single-sided trimmers. They also feature a 21.2 cc professional-grade 2-stroke engine, an anti-vibration system, and forward-facing exhaust tube. The handles do not rotate, and have rubber grips. Both the HT232 and the HT235 include a debris sweeper for easier cutting. The HT232 has a 28-inch blade and weighs 9.7 pounds, and the HT235 has a 37.6-inch blade and weighs 10.3 pounds.
2/4 Stroke Hedge Trimmers
Shindaiwa also offers two 2/4 stroke hedge trimmer designs – one with double-sided blades and one with single-sided blades – each with two different blade-length options. All four trimmers feature a 24.5cc 2/4 stroke engine and vibration-reducing handle mounts. They are designed with a U-shaped aluminum support bar, which allows less blade flex and improves cutting performance. The support bar is also lightweight, so the added power doesn’t make the trimmer too heavy to easily cut with.
The DH254-24 and DH254-30 have double-sided blades and a rubber overmolded front handle. The DH254-30 has the longer blade length and weighs 13.6 pounds. The DH254-24 weighs 13.3 pounds. Single-sided models HT254-30 and HT254-40 have rubber overmolding on both front and rear handles. The HT254-30 weighs 12.9 pounds, and HT254-40 weighs 13.7 pounds. Unlike the 2-stroke single-sided models, they do not come with a debris sweeper but it can be purchased separately.
