For tidying up around the edges of a lawn or tackling taller grasses and weeds, Shindaiwa offers several models of edgers, trimmers, and brushcutters to suit your needs. Edgers work best for creating a straight edge along sidewalks, pathways, drives, and formal gardens. Trimmers are good for cutting grass that a lawnmower can’t reach, such as along a fence or on a steep incline. Brushcutters will take care of taller and sturdier grasses or weeds.

Edgers

For keeping a lawn looking neat and trimmed around the edges, edging equipment is a must-have. For homeowners, string-line trimmers used at an angle might be sufficient, but if you want a clean professional edge to the lawn you’ll need an edger. Shindaiwa produces two edgers, both gasoline powered.

Both Shindaiwa edgers have an open face shield, an adjustable guide wheel, and a steel skid plate. They measure 69.7 inches long. The main differences between these two edgers are the engine and fuel capacity. The LE242 edger has a 23.9 cc 2-stroke engine and a fluid capacity of 23.3 fluid ounces. The LE254 edger has a 24.5 cc 2/4 stroke engine and a 20.1 ounce fuel capacity.

String-line Trimmers

Shindaiwa offers a variety of string-line trimmers for homeowners and professional lawn care. These include the T242 trimmer and T282 trimmer. Both these trimmers have solid steel drive shafts, a debris shield, commercial grade engines, and 17-inch cutting swaths. The smaller T242 trimmer has a 23.9 cc engine and an overall length of 68.5 inches. The T282 model has a 28.9 cc engine and is 69.9 inches long. Blade ready models, T242X and T282X, are also available.

The newest Shindaiwa trimmer is the T235, a small trimmer that weighs about 12 pounds and yet still has a powerful engine and a 20-inch cutting swath. This trimmer features ergonomic handle grips, a 21.2 cc engine, and 2-stage air filtration to prolong the life of the engine. It’s overall length is 70.2 inches. The fuel tank has a capacity of 14.9 fluid ounces.

Brushcutters

For heavy-duty cutting jobs, Shindaiwa offers several brushcutter models. All brushcutters feature anti-vibration systems and an operating harness that is professional quality to ensure safer, easier cutting.  All four models have solid-steel drive shafts, electronic ignition, and  bicycle-style handle bars which offer greater control and better balance.

Two brushcutters, C242 and C282, feature commercial grade engines and have a 17-inch cutting swath. The other two models, C254 and C344, feature Shindaiwa’s 2/4 stroke engine technology and have a 20-inch cutting swath. Blade hardware is included with all models.
