With a KombiSystem or Yard Boss tool, you get to switch between different attachments while only maintaining one engine. This makes the tools easier to transport and store. They’re also powerful enough for most tasks you’d use a dedicated tool for.
Pick A Power Head
With Stihl’s KombiSystem, you have a choice between five power heads. Unlike some other multi-tool systems, all the Stihl power heads are compatible with every KombiSystem attachment. You can choose exactly which engine you want without worrying about whether or not it will work with the attachments you need.
The Homeowner KM 56 RC-E is equipped with Stihl’s Easy2Start system so you have a simpler time starting their power equipment. For a slightly more powerful tool, check out the KM 94 R. This is Stihl’s lightest weight power head and it’s equipped with the ECOSPEED throttle set wheel so you can set the most effective throttle speed for a particular job and attachment.
More powerful professional trimmer heads start with the KM 90 R, which has 15% more engine power than the homeowner power head. The next size up, the KM 110 R, has 10% more power than the KM 90 R. And the most powerful motor, the KM 130 R, has 33% more engine power than the KM 110 R.
Be A Yard Boss
For the Yard Boss, you can pick between two different models. The MM 55 is a powerful tool that weighs just over 20 pounds. The handles fold down for easy transportation and storage. The MM 55 C-E model is the same, with the addition of Easy2Start technology.
Yard Boss tools come with a pick-style cultivator attachment that has a cultivating width of 8.5 inches. The other attachments are simple to use – you just replace the standard tines with a different attachment style.
