Why Choose an ECHO Multi-Task Tool?
The ECHO Pro Attachment Series (PAS) is an economical way to keep a variety of tools on hand. The commercial-grade attachments—including trimmers, edgers, cultivators, blowers, and power pruners—are interchangeable for use with a single power source.
As with other multitools, using the ECHO PAS system makes maintenance easier, because you only need to maintain one engine to have a variety of tools. The multitool system is also easier to store than separate tools and takes up less space in a storage shed, garage, or equipment trailer. Each ECHO PAS power source features a commercial-grade 2-stroke engine or a quality battery-powered motor, and you can change attachments quickly without the use of additional tools.
Power Sources
The ECHO PAS system includes several powerheads to meet your unique needs. You have the choice between battery-powered or gasoline-powered systems. You can also choose between less powerful, and less expensive, powerheads for residential use or more powerful models for commercial applications. These powerheads are available by themselves or as part of attachment bundles.
For the battery powerheads, your options are the DPAS-2100 for homeowners or the more powerful DPAS-2600 for commercial use. The homeowner battery powerhead is compatible with 15 of the PAS attachments (everything except the Bed Redefiner), while the commercial powerhead is compatible with all 16 attachments.
The PAS-225 gasoline powerhead is designed for residential use. It features an i-30 system for easy starting and you can use it with 12 different attachments. It is not compatible with the Straight Shaft Edger, ProSweep, ProThatch, ProPaddle, or Bed Redefiner attachments.
Finally, the PAS-2620 gasoline powerhead provides powerful commercial performance. It is compatible with 15 attachments. The only one it’s not compatible with is the Curved Shaft Trimmer attachment.
Attachments
In total, there are currently 16 attachments available for the ECHO PAS multi-tool system. All 16 are compatible with the battery-powered commercial powerhead, and 15 are compatible with the homeowner battery powerhead and with the commercial gasoline powerhead. The homeowner gasoline powerhead works with 12 of these attachments. You can choose to purchase as many, or as few, of these attachments as you like.
Trimmers and Brushcutters
There are three trimmers and a brushcutter available as attachments for ECHO PAS systems. The Curved Shaft Trimmer cuts a 16-inch swath and can precisely trim tight areas. The Pro-Torque Trimmer cuts a 17-inch swath and provides up to 50% more torque than the other trimmer attachments.
The Speed-Feed Trimmer provides a 17-inch cutting swath and you can replace the cutting line in seconds without disassembling the cutting head. The Brushcutter attachment is equipped with an 8-inch metal cutting blade for heavy-duty trimming.
Hedge Trimmers and Pruner
ECHO’s hedge trimmer attachments come in three styles: Hedge Trimmer, Articulating Hedge Trimmer, and Mid-Reach Hedge Trimmer. All feature 21-inch double-sided cutting blades.
The Hedge Trimmer attachment has an overall length of 50 inches, while the Mid-Reach Hedge Trimmer has an overall length of 38 inches. The Articulating Hedge Trimmer has an overall length of about 64 inches, and you can adjust the cutting head along a 135-degree range in 15-degree increments.
The Power Pruner is a pole pruner attachment. It comes standard with a cutting head that has a 10-inch bar, providing 8 feet of reach when attached to the power head. You can swap the cutting head out for one with a 12-inch bar if you need to cut thicker branches or reach a little further.
Extender
For additional reach, ECHO also provides a 3-foot extension attachment. It is compatible with the Power Pruner and all hedge trimmer attachments.
Edgers and Cultivators
The Curved Shaft Edger and Straight Shaft Edger both have 7.75-inch cutting blades that allow for deep, clean edging around sidewalks and garden beds. They also feature open-faced shields to protect the operator and help prevent clogging.
The Bed Redefiner is a patented edger that has a 6-fingered claw design with brazed carbide tips for redefining the edge of a neglected flower bed. You can adjust the support wheel to customize the cutting depth.
ECHO’s Cultivator attachment has a 6.5-inch tilling swath. As a mini-garden tiller, it is lightweight and more maneuverable than full-size tillers. It is useful for cultivating in established flower beds, working the soil in raised beds, and weeding more easily than with a spade or hoe.
Clean-Up
For cleaning up after a job, there are three PAS attachments. The Blower attachment provides 117 mph air speed and is quieter than many competing blower attachments.
Pro Sweep and Pro Paddle attachments will clean a 22.5-inch-wide swath. The Pro Sweep attachment is perfect for clearing debris out of cracks, and you can use it on a variety of surfaces including concrete, lawn grass, and artificial turf. The Pro Paddle is a rock rake attachment perfect for clearing rocks, mulch, pine needles, pine cones, walnuts, and acorns without damaging lawn grass.
