For some clearing tasks, you need a cutting tool more powerful than a line trimmer but not quite as powerful as a chainsaw. Brushcutters are specifically designed to efficiently clear tall grass, thick weeds, dense undergrowth, small bushes, and saplings. If you’re looking for a tool to clean-up overgrown plants around your home or use as part of your business, Richardson Saw and Lawnmower has several brands and styles to choose from.

Stihl Brushcutters

Stihl fs 360 Brushcutter dallasThe Stihl FS 360 C-E Brushcutter Clearing Saw is ideal for homeowner and professional brushcutting. This trimmer features Stihl’s Easy2STart system and offers reduced exhaust emission and a fuel-efficient engine. For 29% more cutting power, choose the Stihl FS 460 C-EM Professional Brushcutter. This trimmer also adds the M-Tronic intelligent engine management system to supply optimum engine power at all times. Both of these brushcutters feature a bike-style handlebar and cutting harness for comfortable cutting and better maneuverability. The handlebars swivel for easy storage.

Some of Stihl’s string line trimmers can also accommodate brushcutting blades. This is a good choice if you use trimmers more frequently than brushcutters but still want a brushcutting option. The Stihl FS 110 R and Stihl FS 130 R professional trimmers both accommodate different cutting head options, including steel grass and brush blades.

Multi-Tools

Stihl FS KM Brushcutter Store DallasBoth the Stihl KombiStystem and the Echo PAS system offer brushcutting attachments. One of the advantages to these multi-tool systems is that you only need to maintain and store one cutting head to take advantage of several different tools. Powerheads are sold separately from brushcutting attachments.

The Stihl FS-KM Brushcutter with Grass Blade Attachment features a four-toothed cutting blade specifically designed for heavy-duty tasks involving weeds and dense grass. It has a plastic debris shield. Like other brushcutters, this attachment is not recommended for regular trimming tasks like cleaning up around obstacles.

The Echo PAS Brushcutter Attachment is equipped with an 8-inch brushcutting blade and metal debris shield. The saw-tooth blade has 80 teeth. A barrier bar or U-handle kit with harness is required for use with the Echo PAS system.
