Allen Home Lawn Equipment Honda Tillers

As the weather warms up and the soil thaws, you’re probably thinking about getting into your garden. Once the soil is dry enough to crumble and there aren’t frost crystals in it, you can start tilling and getting ready for spring planting.

Allen Home Lawn Equipment Honda Tillers

Honda offers four reliable tiller models designed to fit your exact needs. Have a small garden? A mini-tiller is compact and maneuverable. Need something with a little more power? Try one of the mid-tine models. Plan on working a large garden? The rear-tine tiller makes it easy to till for longer periods of time.

Mini Tillers

The smallest Honda tiller features an easy-starting mini 4 stroke engine. A guard covers the front, back and top of the engine to protect it from accidental bumps. This also provides a convenient handle for moving the tiller and makes it easy to tie the tiller down for transport between properties.

The FG110 mini-tiller only weighs 29 pounds and has a 9-inch tilling width, which makes it very easy to carry and maneuver. You can transport it between gardens and till in narrow spaces more easily than with a larger tiller. If you have trouble working with heavier lawn equipment, have a small garden, or need to till in confined spaces, then this tiller will work well for you.

Mid-Tine Tillers

Honda offers two mid-tine tillers. Both tillers feature a retractable transport wheel and depth bar, which lets you control how deep the tiller works the soil and how fast you till. The F220 also has an adjustable tilling width, which makes it a very versatile tiller. There’s a removable tine on each side so you can use the tiller either at 21-inches or 12-inch wide. This tiller has a folding handle, which makes it easy to store.

The FC600 has a 26-inch tilling width so you can cover more ground at once. The tines measure 14 inches diameter – 2 inches wider than the F220 – so you can work the soil more deeply. Both mid-tine tillers are good choices for small to mid-size gardens. The F220 works well if you want a tiller that can cover more ground than a mini-tiller but also need the option to till in narrow places. For slightly larger gardens, the FC600 helps you cover more ground at once and gives you the option to work soil deeper.

Rear-Tine Tillers

Honda’s most powerful tiller features a 20-inch tilling width and 12-inch tine diameter. This tiller is self-propelled with 3 forward speeds and 1 reverse. The rear tines are enclosed for safety and there’s also a debris shield to protect you from flying dirt. Side-tine shields let you get closer to plants and structures like fences without worrying about tearing stems off or getting the tines stuck.

You can operate the FRC800 from behind or walking on either side. This means you can walk beside the tiller on untilled ground, and it makes the tiller easier to turn at the end of rows. This tiller is ideal for large gardens and/or breaking new ground. Since it is self-propelled, unlike the mid-tine tillers, you can work for longer without tiring out.
