Echo’s Bear Cat chippers and chipper/shredders are sturdy, reliable products designed for long life and ease of maintenance. There are many options and features to choose from, including gravity or hydraulic-feed chippers. The hydraulic chippers are easier to feed and more time efficient, since they have a hydraulic driven feed roller to help push material into the chipper blades. Gravity fed models work a little slower, but they’re less expensive and are a good choice if time isn’t a factor or you’re not planning to use the chipper very often.

Bear Cat chippers are designed to chip wood 4 to 9 inches in diameter, depending on the model. The wide, easy-to-feed chipping shoots are designed to efficiently handle bushy debris as well as solid branches. The 4 Inch and 5 Inch Chippers are gravity fed and designed for homeowners to tow behind a lawn mower or tractor. These smaller models are road-towable, and they’re a good choice for tree service and landscaping companies that want a portable chipper to help with smaller clean-up tasks.

The larger commercial chippers, which will chip 6 to 9-inch branches, are hydraulic fed. The hydraulic chippers feature an AutoFeed function designed to feed at just the right speed to maximize efficiency and minimize chipper wear. They are powered by gasoline or diesel engines.

All the chipper/shredder models are gravity fed. The smallest, homeowner model will chip yard waste up to 2 inches in diameter, and shred up to 3/4 inch debris. This makes it perfect for cleaning up small branches and twigs. You can also use the shredding option on leaves and small trimmings to get material ready for composting. Most of the different chipper shredder models, like the SC3206, will chip material up to 3 inches. All models feature a changeable discharge screen so you can control the finished shred size.

Engine or PTO powered models that can chip yard waste up to 5 inches are the most versatile in the chipper/shredder line. An optional blower attachment converts these larger models into a powerful vacuum for cleaning up leaves, trimmings, and other debris and running them through the shredder. You can even use it to pick up chips and shred them if you want to reduce the size.

Bear Cat’s skid steer chippers are driven by the hydraulic system of the skid or track steer loader you mount them to. Like the other chipper models, they are designed to quickly reduce the size of yard debris. These chippers and can handle material up to 8 inches in diameter, depending on the model. The smallest, a 4.5 Inch model, is gravity fed and designed to mount on mini skid steers.

The 5 Inch and 8 Inch models are both hydraulic, and feature universal attachment ends so they’ll work with most skid steers. All these chippers have a 360-degree rotating discharge tube so you can control where the chips go. The CH800H chipper also features two ways to attach the chipper chute so you can feed it from either the side or front.
