Blowers might seem like a relatively straight-forward piece of power equipment at first glance. There are several features, however, to take into consideration when choosing a blower, and several different models designed to suit different needs. The blowers from RedMax are efficient, durable, and easy to operate. This brand offers 3 different styles of hand-held blowers, and 8 styles of back-pack blowers designed for professional use.
Why Buy A Blower?
Blowers are a great tool for saving time when cleaning up a yard. They can quickly move leaves, twigs, and grass clippings off the lawn, and models that convert to vacuums save even more time by gathering up the collected debris. Blowers can also be used for snow, cleaning out gutters, and cleaning driveways and sidewalks. They are easier to use than a rake or broom, and depending on the situation may be the fastest way to clean out a garage or shed. Just be sure to leave the doors open and wear a dust mask if using the blower inside a building, and secure any items that could be blown away.
Hand-Held Blowers
The RedMax HB280-VK and HB281 models are essentially the same blower. Both have a 28 cc, 1.1 horsepower engine and produce an air speed of 170 miles per hour. They weigh only 9.4 pounds. This means a high power-to-weight ratio, that lets you get the job done faster with minimal fatigue. The HB280-VK model, however, can convert from a blower to a vacuum using the included vacuum kit. An optional gutter-cleaning kit is available for both models.
The third hand-held blower, the HBZ2610, is slightly smaller. It has a 25.4 cc, 1.2 horsepower engine and weighs 9.2 pounds. Its max air speed is 124 miles per hour. It is still a powerful little blower, though, and features a Strato-Charged 2-stroke engine with ultra-low emissions. An optional vacuum kit is available for this model.
Backpack Blowers
There are four basic styles of RedMax backpack blower, each available with either a frame mounted throttle or a tube mounted throttle to create 8 different available blowers. Frame mounted throttles are standard on RedMax trimmers, and are designed to reduce downtime that can result from damaged cables. The RH model variations have tube mounted throttles that are more convenient and comfortable to use.
All the backpack blowers feature commercial-grade engines, a wide elbow rotation for increased mobility, and a Free Flow Air Net to reduce blockage in the air intake. The smallest of these blowers are the EBZ5150 and EBZ5150RH. They have a 50.2 cc, 2.3 horse power engine and weighs 22.7 pounds. The max air speed is 171 miles per hour.
The other backpack models have much higher air speeds. The EBZ6500 blower has a maximum airspeed of 232.42 miles per hour, with a 65.6 cc, 3.81 horsepower engine. It weighs 22.71 pounds. The EBZ7500 blower has the highest air speed in a RedMax model, at 236.22 miles per hour. It has a 65.6, 3.94 horsepower engine and weighs 23.37 pounds. The larges model, EBZ8500, has a 75.6 cc, 4.43 horsepower engine. It weighs 24.69 pounds and has a max air speed of 206.25 miles per hour.
